The purpose of this study is to determine whether progesterone may reduce marijuana withdrawal symptoms when women stop smoking marijuana.

What type of study is this?

This is a pilot study seeking female marijuana users, ages 18-45.

How long is the study?

Participants can anticipate 1 screening visit (lasting approximately 2 hours) followed by a 5 day study period.

What will be expected of me if I participate in the study?

Participants can expect study activities to include:

Screening interview and physical

Filling out forms

Providing urine, breath, and saliva samples

 Taking a medication for 5 days

Will I be paid for this study?

Yes. Participants will be paid for study-related time and travel.

Who is eligible for the study?

Women, ages 18-45, who currently use marijuana on a regular basis.

Where is the study located?

This study is being conducted at the Medical University of South Carolina, located in Charleston, SC. We are located in the Roper Medical Office Building.
